MNN Features: Direct2Pod Podcasting

Mynewznow’s first module feature built was a Direct2pod podcasting system. Our system allows for video uploads, storage, editing, thumbnail image creation and posting to a web page for downloading as well as generating an RSS feed and making it fully Itunes compatible.

MNN utilizes the video podcasting system as the video handling application for the entire site.  We created a proprietary online video editor that allows MNN videos to be edited so that smaller clips can be made from larger ones making for more convenient smaller pod casting in bite size amounts. 

When we encode the podcast, MNN saves an FLV that is playable on the web page. MNN also saves an Mp4 version of the clip that is used by Itunes and PSPs .  MNN automatically strips an audio file from the same clip and saves that as an MP3 for audio podcasting.

For broadcasters this can be more than a podcasting tool.  This can be the stand-alone method to capture video, encode it, annotate it and publish it to the web and serve as the complete video-to-web system for a news organization, a church, a university, or a school system.

Online Video Editing
We developed a proprietary online video editor that can cut and create clips, save them, and create a thumbnail image.  The system allows you to title the video clip, write a description of it and publish it or cue it for an administrator to review.  All the necessary links are automatically made and it is an Itune ready submission available online. 

An added feature is the editor lives online and can accommodate simultaneous use by multiple administrators. Completed clips are sent to the cue for transcoding.

Flash Video Player
MNN has its own integrated Flash video player.  It can be branded with an identification overlay on the video so your users see the name of your site.

Video Advertising
MNN has a simple ‘B-roll’ ad insertion capability which lets you choose from pre-created video advertising clips and assign those clips to play on the site when a video is selected for viewing by a user.
